Audemars Piguet (AP) launched the ‘Go Offshore’ exhibition from 24 to 30 September 2014 at the ifc mall in Hong Kong in celebration of the first self-owned store opening in the city.
The exhibition highlighted 24 historical pieces of the Royal Oak Offshore 42mm collection travelled all the way from the AP private museum in Le Brassus, including the first watch from the collection introduced in 1993 and several iconic limited-edition timepieces. The six new models for 2014 were also on display. It was the largest public exhibition of the Royal Oak Offshore 42mm collection in Asia.
Held on 25 September, the grand opening of the store was inaugurated by François-Henry Bennahmias, AP’s CEO, David von Gunten, CEO of AP Hong Kong and China, Rita Hämmerli-Weschke, consul general of Switzerland in Hong Kong, and Asian celebrity Leon Lai who was said to share many values such as passion, innovation and the constant quest for excellence with the Swiss luxury watch brand. Based in Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland, AP is the oldest fine watchmaker still in the hands of its founding families (Audemars and Piguet) since 1875. The brand amazed the world’s aficionados with the creation of supersized and sporty watches.
