Crossfor Co Ltd, Japan, has launched the avant-garde stone-setting solution - Twinkle Setting® - allowing the centre stone of a pendant, a ring, or earrings to swing constantly for perpetual scintillation. The cutting-edge setting technology requires no laser hole in the stone preserving maximum reflection. Jewellery made with Crossfor Component, a unique finding used for Twinkle Setting®, is called ‘Dancing Stone’ jewellery. After gaining a firm foothold in Japan and the United States, the ‘Dancing Stone’ concept is being introduced to the European market, according to Yohei Dobashi, director of Crossfor HK Ltd.
‘Dancing Stone’ is our patented exclusive technology in Japan, Canada and Thailand. We provide global jewellery manufacturers with customised Crossfor Component for making ‘Dancing Stone’ jewellery. The findings can be available in silver, 18-karat, 14-karat, 10-karat or 9-karat gold in any required shapes. They are all made in Japan,” elaborated Dobashi.
Despite the brisk sales in the States with around two million pieces a year, Crossfor maintains a cautiously optimistic outlook for the European market. "Unlike the jewellery industry in the States, in Europe there are mainly small independent enterprises who may not afford to place bulk orders. Normally we take a minimum order of 300 pieces per item; for European buyers, however, we accept one-third or even smaller numbers per item that fit their production schedules," said Dobashi.
Apart from offering customised Crossfor Component to global jewellery manufacturers, Crossfor also delivers made-to-order 'Dancing Stone' jewellery set with different kinds of faceted gemstones for manufacturers or wholesalers. The company also goes downstream by carrying a delicate collection of branded silver jewellery set with cubic zirconia online targeting end-users.
