Sotheby’s London’s fine jewels auction on 11 June 2015 recorded exceptional results for signed pieces from the first half of the 20th century including a bracelet attributed to Ernst Paltscho from the 1930s which sold for £75,000 (US$116,000) and a gold and plique-a-jour enamel chain by Lalique which achieved £43,750 (US$67,700). Strong prices were also achieved for exceptional gemstones such as a ruby and diamond clasp from the late 19th century which sold for £67,500 (US$104,400) and a fancy intense yellow diamond ring by Cartier which sold for £87,500 (US$135,000). The sale achieved a total of £4.8 million (US$7.8 million).
