
The autumn jewellery and jadeite sale of Christie’s Hong Kong held on 29 November 2016 fetched a total of HK$611,146,250 (US$79,172,226). A 4.26-carat fancy vivid blue internally-flawless marquise-cut diamond ring by Moussaieff (top photo) reigned the top lot at HK$91.3 million. The Ratnaraj diamond ring featuring a 10.05-carat oval-shaped natural Burmese Pigeon’s Blood ruby by Faidee (photo) was sold for HK$79 million, making it the third world’s highest auction price for a ruby.
