Christie’s sale of rare watches in Geneva was concluded on 14 November 2016. A total of CHF14,702,500 (US$14,864,227) was achieved which, according to Thomas Perazzi, head of the Geneva watch department and auctioneer, reflected very well the current state of the international watch market where exceptional and fresh-to-the-market timepieces were sought after. Top lots of the sale included a Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon platinum double-dial wristwatch ref 5002P (photo) sold for CHF1,147,000. The sale included the second offering of the Patek Philippe Nautilus 40 celebration section with exceptional results achieved for an 18-karat white gold automatic wristwatch ref 3700/1G which was sold for CHF367,500.
