Held on 12 November 2013, Christie’s Geneva magnificent jewels sale totaled US$125 million (approximately HK$972 million), the highest total ever for any jewellery auctions in the city. The Orange in 14.82 carat, the largest fancy vivid orange diamond ever offered at auction, achieved US$35.5 million (approximately HK$275 million), set a world record price per carat for any diamond sold at auction, as well as a world record price for an orange diamond. Other top lots include a seven-strand natural pearl necklace which was sold for US$9 million (approximately HK$70 million) and the Côte d’Azur brooch set with a 58.29-carat sapphire designed by Anna Hu. The brooch fetched US$4.6 million (approximately HK$35 million), setting the world auction record price per carat for a Burma sapphire and the world auction record price for a contemporary designer.
