Sotheby’s Geneva magnificent jewels auction on 13 November 2013 highlighted The Pink Star flawless pink diamond sold for US$83 million (approximately HK$645 million), a world record price for any gem at auction. The 59.60-carat stone was bought by a New York-based diamond cutter Isaac Wolf and renamed The Pink Dream. The diamond is the largest internally flawless fancy vivid pink stone ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The sale achieved a total of US$199.5 million (approximately HK$1.55 billion). The sale also set several world auction records for Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery, a pair of colourless diamonds, Kashmir and Burmese sapphire jewels, etc.
