The important watches auction conducted by Sotheby’s New York on 7 June 2017 achieved a total of US$7.4 million. Modern complicated timepieces by Patek Philippe and Richard Mille drew much attention. The top lot was a rare platinum Patek Philippe minute repeating perpetual calendar tourbillon watch with retrograde date and moon phases ref 5016 made in 2003 (photo) which was sold for US$444,500. Another highlight was a pink gold Richard Mille tonneau form split seconds chronograph tourbillon watch with power reserve and torque indication RM008 AG PG which fetched US$396,500. Notable interest was also generated for signature horological pieces by Rolex, Greubel Forsey, and A Lange & Söhne.
