The ‘T-GOLD+METS’ Pavilion, a collaboration between Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and HKJJA Exhibition Services Limited, made its fourth presence at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)during 28 February – 4 March 2019. Most of the exhibitors were satisfied with the result, according to a post-show survey conducted by organisers.
Housed in Hall 5B of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, the ‘T-GOLD+METS’ Pavilion gathered 55 exhibitors from mainland China, Hong Kong, Italy, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey occupying 84 booths. State-of-the-art equipment and technologies for jewellery manufacturing spanning from laser welders and casting machinery to 3D printers and packaging solutions. “Exhibitors in general felt vibrant sentiments from buyers across the borders. Most of them were able to make contacts with new clients,” said HKJJA Exhibition Services Limited. “Ninety-five percent of the exhibitors have expressed their interest in coming back to the pavilion next year.”
Staying in the forefront of laser technology since 1961, Sisma SpA, Italy, offers high precision goldsmithing machines, laser welding systems, laser marking/engraving systems and micro-cutting laser systems, 3D printers, etc. Avant-garde devices they introduced at the show included LM-D180 welding laser system (photo 1), SPIGA/FVL+SL automatic chain-making machinery (photo 2), EVERES ZERO/ EVERES UNO professional DLP 3D printer, etc.
Guangzhou-based Cosmo Laser Equipment introduced CPC-500 fibre laser-cutting machine (photo 3) for precious metals. The device uses high-quality imported fibre laser source and cutting heads, offering stable laser output with zero maintenance of laser source. Other main features of the machine include customised software for minimised cutting time, high quality servo motor to secure high cutting accuracy and high efficient material lost retrieval system.
Jiangsu Totus Technology Co, Ltd provides high precision and high efficient 3D printing solutions ensuring stable outcomes and excellent quality. Among the new devices the company brought to the show was the 3D Plus 3D printer (photo 4). As a leading high precision model, it has been widely used in the jewellery industry as an indispensable productivity tool.
Yihui Casting Technology Co, Ltd featured advanced casting machines and 3D printing devices at the fair. With a casting capacity of 2.5kg gold, DVC-II vaccum casting machine ensures metals with even colours with strong electromagnetic stirring. An LED display with 1,000 parametres storage comes as another feature of the device. High-precision Vanshape Pro series 3D printer (photo 5) offers a maximum printing areas of PRO 100, PRO 150, PRO 200 and PRO 300 are respectively 65 x 41 x 100 mm, 96 x 54 x 130 mm, 144 x 81 x 180 mm and 192 x 108 x 115 mm.
In a bid to provide practitioners with a casual networking occasion, organisers of the pavilion threw a beer party in the afternoon of 1 March. Exhibitors and industry friends were invited to indulge themselves in the temporary getaway amidst busy schedules.
