Picchiotti, Italy, has recently been granted a 20-year US jewellery patent to the technology behind its innovative XpandableTM collection. The Valenza-based brand said according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, fine jewellery patents are rare, with only 191 patents have been granted for ‘fine jewellery’ since 1976.
Launched in early 2016, the XpandableTM collection uses a revolutionary invisible technology which allows precious gemstone bracelets and rings to expand and contract for comfortable and durable wear. There are over 200 designs in the collection.
