The Lab Grown Diamond Council (LGDC) has launched on 15 May in attempt to develop an international communications programme designed for “focused, research-based messaging on advocacy, communications and education of the unique offering of lab-grown diamonds” in response to the requests from lab-grown diamond market players.
“LGDC has been established to create a unified voice to maximize the growth of lab-grown diamonds," said Chris Casey, President of LGDC. "Our intent is to provide members with the tools they need to continue to drive the growth of this revolutionary product,” he added.
The council headquartered in New York will do research on retail performance and consumer attitudes; promote on social media; and clarification with third-party verification. Membership is open to all companies in the lab-grown diamond market.
