Swarovski, known for its crystal jewellery will get into natural diamond business within a year. Rough diamonds supplied by the third party will be manufactured into polished items in Austria for its pending collections.
“We believe in the natural diamond story and we want to tell the story of a product that makes a positive contribution,” Swarovski said during a GIA panel discussion about embracing sustainability that was hosted by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
The jeweller has offered synthetic diamonds in 2017 under the name Swarovski Created Diamonds. Diamonds larger than 3 mm have a laser-engraving, visible only under a microscope, for lab-grown diamond identification.
