The sale of Important Jewels held by Christie’s London yesterday fetched a total of around £5.7 million (US$7.2 million).
The top lot was an important ring set with a 10.05-carat, E colour, VVS1, Type IIa circular-cut diamond (photo 1) sold for £347,250. An impressive diamond necklace set with old, circular and baguette-cut diamonds (photo 2) achieved £335,250. A fine late 19th century sapphire brooch of 26.49 carats (photo 3) was sold for £237,500.
The sale drew the London Luxury Week started 5 June to a close with a combined total of £12.6 million.
