The Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF)’s Fancy Color Diamond Index (FCDI) indicates that overall prices of fancy colour diamonds traded in Hong Kong, New York and Tel Aviv during Q2 dipped 0.1 percent. Pink diamonds continued to outperform blue and yellow diamonds.
Pink diamonds went up 0.4 percent yoy, thanks to the demand for two and three carats ‘vivid pink’ categories. Prices saw a rise of 2.8 and 2.6 percent respectively.
Prices of blue diamonds dropped 0.3 percent after a two-year-increase. 1.5 carats blues boosted 4.8 percent while eight to 10 carats category saw a 0.9 percent decline.
Yellow diamonds, the best performer in Q2 last year, fell 0.8 percent including a 2.7 percent reduction in the one-carat category, yet eight carats yellows enjoyed a 2.1 percent growth.
