Bonas will hold its fourth coloured gemstone auction at Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel from 14 to 18 September, parallel to the September Hong Kong Gem and Jewellery Fair. Participation in the tender is registration based.
460 lots of sapphires, rubies, emeralds, aquamarines, spinels, garnets, tourmalines and other gemstones will be displayed. Highlights of the tender includes three unheated Burmese rubies weighing 17.14-carat, 5.15-carat and 8.06-carat. Unlike traditional tender, the tender house charges no extra fees such as the buyer's premium. Buyers could submit one highest bid only.
Two sugilite tenders were held in Hong Kong this year. A 800 kg deep purple sugilite mined in South Africa was offered in late February.
