The 64th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair organised by Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the theme of Thailand’s Magic Hands: The Spirit of Jewelry Making from 10-14 September at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani generated revenue of more than US$78 million.
The fair offered a platform for large manufacturers, SMEs and local talented designers to promote their products to the international markets. Over 1,000 companies occupying 2,100 booths exhibited at zones of The Niche Showcase, The Jewellers, Innovation and Design Zone, The New Faces, Gems Treasure etc. This year, more than 150 new exhibitors from across Thailand were at the New Faces zone including one jeweller who won the creative & innovative fashion category in Design Excellence Award were there to showcase her award-winning ring designs.
DITP director general Banjongjitt Angsusingh said the fair welcomed 15,188 visitors from 110 countries and saw a 13 percent increase in foreign visitors. Products with the highest value of trade were gemstones at US$24 million and silver jewellery at US$16 million.
The 65th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair will be held on 25-29 February 2020 at Challenger Halls 1, 2 and 3 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
