De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds in partnership with auction house Christie’s to stage an exhibition entitled ‘Rare Treasures of the Earth’ at Christie’s headquarter in London running from 8 to 12 November exhibiting rare coloured diamonds, rocks and minerals.
Diamond highlights of the exhibition including: The Cullinan Dream, a 24.18-carat fancy intense blue diamond, 2.01-carat fancy vivid pinkish-purple diamond, 1.42 carats fancy vivid bluish-green diamond and a set of four purple diamonds. There are also unusual minerals and crystals such as quartz crystal cluster and amethyst geode with calcite and agate.
Experts from De Beers will host a series of interactive demonstrations to give insights into grading and testing rare fancy coloured diamonds. "This exhibition provides a fantastic opportunity for us to engage directly with the end-consumer and share the wealth of knowledge we have on diamond origin, rarity, colour, grading and testing," said Jonathan Kendall, president of De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds.
