The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) has added a new ruby colour standard named the Rabbit’s Eye and Golden Red Rudy into its Colours Standards Master.
During the first-ever International Chanthaburi Gems and Jewelry Festival from 4 to 8 Dec, the institute revealed the Rabbit’s Eye. According to GIT, “Rabbit’s Eye” is a pinkish-red shade of gem-quality natural ruby, regardless of its origin. The colour is sought after in the European market. While the colour of Golden Red Ruby, which also known as Ploy Daeng in Thai can only be found in Thailand.
