Alrosa has decided to move its March auctions of rough and polished diamonds away from Hong Kong to other trading centres.
According to the Russian diamond producer, an auction for special size rough diamonds will be held in Moscow 2-18 March, followed by an auction for polished diamonds which will take place in Ramat Gan of Israel. The date is not yet published.
Alrosa’s deputy CEO Evgeny Agureev said: “Alrosa is a regular participant of a major jewellery fair in Hong Kong. Every year, we hold auctions and tenders for rough and polished diamonds there. This year, the organizers decided to postpone the spring fair until the second half of May. Our company has adjusted its business plans respectively, and relocated two auctions scheduled for March fair.”
