The Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair will open its door from 25-29 February as scheduled despite the coronavirus outbreak. The show organizer, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has announced the preparation of preventive security measures to protect visitors and exhibitors.
Those hygiene measures include thermal scanners at entrances and exits with nurses stationed around the show and hand sanitisers and face masks available at many spots. There will be a temporary screening unit outside the building for anyone who found to have elevated body temperatures for further investigation. The organiser said they will also increase the frequency of spraying disinfectant in the air conditioning system.
The registration date has even extended until 20 February.“Numerous exhibitors told us on Thursday [Feb 6] that they wanted to participate in the event, especially as the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show has been suspended, ” the organiser director-general Somdet Susomboon said. A total of 913 Thai and companies from other countries and regions have registered for the event at the moment.
