Baselworld has been cancelled by the show organiser MCH Group following Swiss government’s ban on any gathering of more than 1,000 people over coronavirus fears and re-scheduled to 28 January 2021.
The show originally takes place from 30 April to 5 May as construction of the show’s infrastructure is due to take place at the beginning of March, MCH had to make the decision as soon as possible. Michel Loris-Melikoff, Baselworld managing director commented on the postpone: “We have found a solution that enables the industry and all our customers to avoid losing a full year and at the same time reset their calendars for the beginning of the year, a period that is conducive to the presentation of their new products, new trends and order taking.”
The organiser will launch a new digital service for the jewellery and watch community which helps brands in these difficult and turbulent times.
