Diamond trading halls in Belgium and Israel have closed until further notice due to coronavirus restrictions.
Both rough and polished halls in Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) are shut. In case equipment is required, a controlled number of members’ entry is allowed for a short period of time. All four bourses of Antwerp: Antwerp Diamond Bourse, the Antwerpsche Diamantkring, the Diamond Club of Antwerp and Vrije Diamnthandel, close their trading floors, while the building will remain open.
Governments in both countries have implemented measures against the spread of coronavirus. Israel has banned public gatherings over 10 people. Under the declaration of emergency announced in Belgium, all events will be cancelled or postponed, while public places are ordered to shut from Friday midnight until 3 April.
