The Geneva Watch Days originally planned for late April 2020 in response to the cancellation of Baselworld and Watches & Wonders has rescheduled to August due to the fast expansion of the novel coronavirus all over the world, said the organising committee yesterday.
To be held 26-29 August, Geneva Watch Days is a designed as decentralised and self-managed multibrand watch event launched by major luxury watchmakers including Bvlgari, Breitling, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, Gerald Genta, Urwerk, H.Moser & Cie, De Bethune and MB&F.
Besides the founding brands, it is expected that 15 to 20 more brands will join the event.
“The postponement will allow not only to be safer, but eventually to have a bigger and more international event as with Covid now receding in countries such as China or Korea, we might eventually attract besides the European major players, also an important Asian Clientele,” said Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin who unveiled the initiative early March.
The official website for registration and information will be effective by end of April 2020.
