De Beers offers their US$250 worthy Diamond Foundation Course to the diamond industry during the coronavirus outbreak free of charge.
The diamond giant stated on its website: “During this time of social distancing and isolation, businesses must find ways to adapt and remain productive. Staying in contact with clients and engaging them may be more difficult than usual during this period, which is why we want to offer our support.”
It contains eight modules with each chapter lasts 10 to 30 minutes. Completion of the course will establish a deeper understanding of the full diamond pipeline for the participants and ends with a short assessment and downloadable study notes. Covered topics included diamond formation, mining, sorting and pricing, 4cs, cutting and polishing, jewellery design, marketing and retail and synthetic diamonds.
