The Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show 2020 and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2020 organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will now be held 3-6 August at AsiaWorld-Expo. This is the third schedule of the twin-fairs in response to the development of the global coronavirus pandemic.
Originally set for 2-8 March, the two fairs were postponed to 18-21 May owing to the escalating health threat posed by the virus outbreak. HKTDC announced the suspension of the preparation of shows on 23 March when the Hong Kong government said all travellers arriving in the city on or before 18 June should isolate themselves for 14 days.
The new show date for August was announced on Tuesday after consultation with the industry. To support industry practitioners through this hard time, the show organiser has launched an online sourcing initiative 'Spring Virtual Expo @ hktdc.com' for 1-30 April to “enable global suppliers to maintain and establish contact with buyers during the traditional peak sourcing season”.
