Women's Jewellery Network closes

6-8-2020

The Women's Jewellery Network (WJN) announces its immediate closure. Member networks and official website will be taken down within the next month.

WJN voices for women working in the jewellery industry. The platform gathers women who want to find advice and build rapport with their industry peers, and in turn the support, connections and inspiration to further their career ambitions. It has over 4,000 people across its social media platforms and mailing list and 45 global ambassadors in 2019.

WJN co-founder and former London Diamond Bourse (LDB) COO Victoria McKay commented on the action: “The world has changed a lot over the past several months and, like everyone else, we’re adapting with it. Not least, changes in my work life mean I no longer have the capacity to lead WJN.”

The other co-founder Kathryn Bishop and Rachael Taylor will continue to invest in creative and career-focused initiatives that support talent across the jewellery industry. Kathryn is currently a pro-bono mentor for members of the Black Jewellers Network to support black jewellers in the UK.
