The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) will follow the path of many industry shows worldwide and host India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) in a virtual format from 12-16 October.
The IIJS Virtual will have five ‘halls’ for gold jewellery, diamond /coloured stone jewellery, couture/bridal jewellery, loose diamonds/coloured stones/pearls and silver/fashion jewellery. With an expectation to gather 500 exhibitors and 10,000 buyers, GJEPC chairman Colin Shah estimated the show would do 20-40 percent business transactions as compared physical show. Entry to the show is free. Visitors will be able to browse part of the product listing seven days prior to the opening and register for one-to-one meetings with exhibitors.
Colin said: “We missed out on the August show, we couldn’t let another opportunity go by. Bolstered by the midstream’s confidence in a pick-up in festive and wedding demand, the Council went into high gear to organise IIJS Virtual in record time, to ensure that the IIJS lives up to its earned reputation as the backbone of the Indian industry’s growth.”
