Israel-based diamond technology company Sarine is opening a rough diamond scanning centre, named Galaxy® inclusion scanning centre, in Dubai following the Israel–United Arab Emirates normalization agreement in August.
Dubai diamond service provider Trigem will be responsible for the service operation under license from Sarine. The inclusion-mapping equipment charges a per-carat fee. The two parties will split the service fees.
According to Sarine, Dubai is likely to emerge as the world’s top trading hub for rough diamonds, second to none. It is already the home to major trading bourse of rough diamond, which is expected to further expand to become an important trading centre for polished diamond.
Sarine owns and operates similar centres in Israel, India and the US.
