The Swiss luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe discontinues the production of its Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-010, which GQ describes as “the most coveted watch in the world.”
The news was reported by Hodinkee and confirmed by Patek Philippe headquarter. There is a rumour that the wait time for this sought-after watch was up to 10 years, while according to Patek Philippe CEO Thierry Stern, the piece was just one of the 140 different models. “We have many other models that are more complicated and arguably more beautiful.”
On Chrono 24, its pre-owned prices were triple the retail price. The approximately $30,000 piece is expected to skyrocket in the secondary market. Other versions from rose gold, 255-diamond-set to models with chronographs are still available.
