80-year-old jeweller Steven Stone revealed that Google searches for gemstone, especially emerald have soared this year.
Steven Stone claimed that in February, the term ‘emerald rings’ was searched 142,060 times, represented a 42 percent yoy growth while ‘emerald jewellery’ search frequency up from 27,220 to 38,440, a 77 percent rise. The jeweller, who offers diamond, sapphire, emerald, tourmaline, ruby, morganite and pearl jewellery sees a surge of demand for emerald jewellery.
Director of the family business, Max Stone analysed the phenomenon: “With celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, and Halle Berry all known for their love of green emeralds, the precious gemstone could soon become a key trend for 2021.”
