The Hong Kong Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association (HKJGA) and the Kowloon Pearls, Precious Stones, Jade, Gold and Silver Ornament Merchants Association co-hosts a promotion seminar for the Reputation Shop Mark today.
The mark aims to enhance the jewellery industry standard and market competitiveness. E-commerce sales have seen significant growth in these few years. The associations believe the scheme could boost consumer confidence in buying jewellery online.
Commerce and Economic Development Bureau Undersecretary Dr Bernard Chan, Hong Kong Tourism Board deputy executive director Becky Ip, Hong Kong Legislative Council member in wholesale & retail Shiu Ka Fai, Consumer Council chief executive Gilly Wong, the Code of Practice of the Jewellery Retail Industry Complaints Review Committee president Vincent Fang was invited to participate the seminar.
To apply for the certification mark, applicants should be a holder of the Quality Gold Mark or the Natural Fei Cui Quality Mark issued by the associations, or the Natural Diamond Quality Assurance (NDQA) Mark issued by the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong (DFHK). Companies must follow the Code of Practice of the Jewellery Retail Industry and the terms and regulations of this certification mark scheme. The certification mark is valid for one year. Renewal require review by the Associations.
