New York-based Gemological Science International (GSI) has expanded its global footprint by opening a new laboratory in Jaipur, India.
Located at Rajasthan Chamber Bhawan, the new laboratory will offer GSI’s core services with a dedicated division specialising in coloured gemstone geographical origin and identification. Educational programmes including coloured gemstone identification courses, seminar and lectures will also be offered by the lab.
GSI’s president & co-founder Debbie Azar says: “We are thrilled to continue GSI’s global expansion and open another laboratory in India. The demand for GSI certification and origin testing for natural and lab grown diamonds as well as coloured gemstones continues to grow and the Jaipur lab will help us meet that global need.”.
GSI was founded in 2005 in New York City, providing jewellery manufacturers and retailers with a wide range of gemstone identification and grading services via its global facilities in the States, Belgium, Botswana, Dubai, Hong Kong, India and Israel. (Photo courtesy: GSI)
