The Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) reveals the Fancy Color Diamond INDEX results for Q1 2021. Price growth across fancy intense and fancy vivid rose 0.4 percent.
FDRF’s overview of the coloured diamond market: “Following a challenging year, the first quarter of 2021 proved that Fancy Color Diamond prices are resilient and on the rise across the board as things in the USA slowly go back to normal.” Its prediction is there will be a continuous price increase amidst the recovery of the United States market.
Blue
With a 0.5 percent rise, prices for all sizes and intensities of the category have gradually hiked since 2017. 1.5-carat in all blue saturations grew 1.5 percent with fancy intense segment as the strongest segment at 2.6 percent.
Pink
Overall, pink diamonds have presented a 0.4 percent up after a price standstill in Q4 2020. 2 carats and 3 carats fancy intense pink rose by 3.4 percent and 2.3 percent.
Yellow
The segment has kept dipping with a 0.2 percent decline in Q1 2021. 5-carat fancy intense has the best performance at 0.8 percent.
