The Coloured Gemstones Working Group (CGWG) introduces learning resources platform freely available to gemstone and jewellery industry players who attempt to achieve sustainable development and responsible sourcing and production.
Powered by TDI Sustainability, the portal covers over 40 sustainability topics for the coloured gemstone sector such as due diligence, human rights and labour rights, and environmental protection. It provides webinars, quizzes, readings, and guidance documents, capacity building tools (including sample policies and procedures and online tools), and self- assessment and verification tools.
The Platform also features a community section, with the goal to promote collaboration between businesses and their suppliers, customers and other partners, through the sharing of information and continuous engagement.
The group was formed five years ago. Founding members include gemstone mining companies Gemfields and Muzo and famed jewellery brands Chopard, Kering, Richemont, Swarvoski and Tiffany & Co as well as its parent company, LVMH.
