Rolls-Royce reveals a pair of his-and-hers tourbillon watches for the Boat Tail model’s owners to wear or integrated into the automobile’s dashboard.
Handcrafted by the nearly 200-year-old Swiss watch firm Bovet, the watch strap can be removed and function as a desk clock or a pocket watch. The duo demanded over 3,000 hours for both development and execution according to Bovet.
Both pieces are identical in size of 44mm and movement with different looks. The front dial features strips of marquetry made of the same wood as the Boat Tail. Below is the Spirit of Ecstasy figure, the iconic ornament sculpture on Rolls-Royce cars embedded in the tourbillon bridge. On the reverse side, the model for him is a depiction of the night sky. The feminine version is decorated with a hand-painted floral bouquet over mother-of-pearl.
The Boat Tail is reportedly the most expensive car in the world at US$25 million. The model is also delivered with a champagne chiller, tea towels and crystalware.
