Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) welcomed 1,230 new members in the first half of this year, the best first-half performance since 2013.
Currently, DMCC has over 18,000 businesses registered as its members. Executive chairman and CEO of DMCC Ahmed Bin Sulayem pins his hopes on reaching 20,000 members by the end of 2021. “The record-breaking level of business activity, even during the quieter summer months, reflects the continued appeal of our business district to companies of all sizes and origins. As Dubai prepares to welcome the world to EXPO 2020 Dubai in a few weeks, we see a wealth of opportunities on the horizon,” Sulayem said.
DMCC's Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) has hosted 40 tenders, a 60 percent growth yoy. Banking group Emirates NBD has entered an agreement with DMCC, to double its diamond financing to UAE’s diamond traders, in a bid to foster the development of Dubai into the world’s number one diamond trading hub.
