Platinum Guild International (PGI) USA announced its three recipients of its inaugural “Platinum Business Development Grant” initiative.
The business grant receivers: Helzberg Diamonds, Kwiat, and Mémoire. PGI USA president Jenny Luker commented: “Ultimately, funds were allocated to three partners whom we felt would catapult their platinum business to the next level, whether that was by expanding platinum production, developing new platinum collections or growing their retail channels of distribution.”
All 48 of platinum jewellery available on Helzberg Diamonds’ website are rings. While, Kwiat has a wider type of jewellery offerings in platinum ranging from drop earrings to line bracelets and features different gemstones such as Colombian emerald, ruby and tsavorite. Most of the platinum products in Mémoire, a subsidiary of Chow Tai Fook (CTF) North America, are diamond embedded.
Debuted this March, the grant program aims to award US-based or US-focused manufacturers, designers or retailers who submit a qualifying proposal, which show “willingness to make a long-term commitment to designing, manufacturing and/or selling platinum products”. The fund tops out at US$500,000 total in a three-year program (US$150,000 max during the first and second year).
