The World Jewellery Federation (Cibjo) has just launched a new website dedicated to an updated retailer’s reference guide aiming to educate, inform and inspired jewellery consumers.
The ‘Cibjo Retailer’s Reference Guide’ (second edition) website provides frontline staff in jewellery stores with a simple but comprehensive understanding of the fundamental elements of jewellery. The downloadable 154-page guide consists of two sections: ‘Key Facts’ is a quick reference to understanding the basics of diamonds, gemstones, pearls, precious metals and responsible sourcing; five individual chapters covers detailed information about the five elements.
Users can download the contents onto their electronic devices for easy navigation.
The guide was prepared by Cibjo’s marketing and education commission, with the support of Cibjo’s other commissions and industry experts.
“The typical user is a jewellery sales representative, who interacts directly with consumers in the store,” said Jonathan Kendall, head of Cibjo’s marketing and education commission. “Using a countertop computer or a tablet, they are immediately able to answer and elaborate on almost any question that the consumer may have about an item of jewellery, or the metals and gems of which it is comprised.” (Photos captured from ‘Cibjo Retailer’s Reference Guide’ website)
