The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) announced the appointment of Anna Martin as the senior vice president of institute, industry relations last week. Martin will work with senior GIA executives to develop relationships with influential magnates, companies, and other gem and jewellery trade members.
Martin is well-recognised in the gem and jewellery industry. She served as a governor on the GIA board from 1997 to 2011 and became senior vice president of business development and beneficiation since 2014. She still serves on the board of several industry organizations. “In this new role, Anna will devote her expertise and energy to help secure the Institute’s future and ensure the success of our very important consumer protection mission,”said GIA president and CEO Susan Jacques.
