The Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society (CGSE) has met over 10 industry leaders from the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA) recently at its headquarters in Sheung Wan. Guests were also invited to visit CGSE’s subdivision Hong Kong Precious Metals Assays Centre for the chemical testing procedures of gold.
Steven Chan, president of CGSE said that the assaying centre has gained strong support from the Hong Kong government since established in 2010. The centre also joined the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) to provide quality service to CGSE’s members and the jewellery industry. Besides, it also aims to enhance the credibility of the 9999 gold from Hong Kong.
Haywood Cheung, chairman of the supervisory committee added: ”We have established a bond warehouse in Qianhai in order to meet the industry demand in mainland China. CGSE hopes to cooperate with industry leaders in the future and work together to uplift the Hong Kong brand.”
Charles Chan, then-president of HKJJA said that members of the association areknown for jadeite and gem-set jewellery at home and abroad. The cooperation would help its members to diversify product categories.
