Pandora has announced the appointment of Irving Holmes Wong as senior vice president and general manager of its Greater China cluster. He reported for duty on 7th April, 2022 to take charge of Pandora’s business in the Greater China cluster which has been considered by the company as “unsatisfactory.” The department has 2,000 employees and covers 250 concept stores across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau.
Wong is a Malaysian national and Hong Kong permanent resident and speaks English, Cantonese, Malay, Indonesian and Mandarin. Prior to his new position, he was the managing director, Asia-Pacific and General Manager, China at Avon. He also worked in senior management positions at Bacardi-Martini, Revlon, and L’Oréal.
“As part of its [new] strategy, Pandora has set a long-term target to triple the Chinese business versus 2019 and laid out a two-phase plan to achieve the growth.” The new strategy “ Phoenix strategy” involves solidifying the brand in the first phase and growing Pandora’s store network in the second phase.
