Women’s Jewelry Association Foundation (WJA Foundation) has just launched a new scholarship – Radiant Minds Technology Scholarship – aiming to provide women of colour with the education for tech-related jobs within the jewellery industry.
The scholarship is available to women of colour, inside and outside of the jewellery industry, and supports diversity, equity and inclusion. The selected scholarship recipient will be awarded funding up to $17,500 to pay for a training or certification programme focused on software engineering at a school of their choice, approved by the scholarship committee.
Additionally, as a part of the recipient’s education, Jewellers Mutual Group will offer exposure to leaders within their organisation for mentoring and guidance to prepare the individual with on-the-job experience.
WJA’s mission is to empower women in the jewellery and watch industries by providing educational opportunities that allow women to reach their full career potential.
The organisation offers several types of educational financial aid, which are funded through student scholarship and grant programs; as well as grants to individuals to grow their business. (Photo: WJA Foundation)
