The World Gold Council (WGC) has recently appointed Roland Wang as managing director for China market.
According to WGC, Wang will work closely with Albert Cheng, managing director for the Far East, to further develop the Chinese market.
Wang was former WGC general manager for China and later became the president and general manager of a gold investment and jewellery company in mainland China.
“WGC’s agreements with the China Gold Associationand the Shanghai Gold Exchange, together with the development of the International Board of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, are evidence of our continued strategic commitment to the Chinese market,” said WGC CEO Aram Shishmanian.
Commenting on his appointment, Wang said: “WGC brings essential insight and experience to the Chinese gold market. I am returning during an enormously exciting time for gold in China as we partner with some of China’s most prestigious gold-focused organizations to take the market to the next level.”
