French luxury conglomerate LVMH announced on 5 January 2024 that Frédéric Arnault has been appointed as CEO of LVMH Watches, a newly created role that oversees Hublot, Tag Heuer, and Zenith.
Arnault’s new position will “ensure strong and sustainable growth for the watch maisons and
reinforce LVMH’s role within the watchmaking industry”, the group said in a statement. His appointment is effective since 1 January 2024 and he reports to Stéphane Bianchi, CEO of LVMH’s watches and jewellery division.
Frédéric Arnault, the 29-year-old son of LVMH’s owner Bernard Arnault, joined Tag Heuer in 2017 and has been CEO and chairman of the watch brand since 2020. After leading the transformation and acceleration of that brand including signing a strategic long-term partnership with Porsche, featuring lab-grown diamonds on watches, and streamlining watch distribution, he will be tasked with doing the same for the rest of the watch lines.
Zenith CEO Julien Tornare will take over as head of TAG Heuer, while Benoit de Clerck, who previously worked at Richemont, will succeed Tornare at Zenith. Tornare, de Clerck and Ricardo Guadalupe, the CEO of Hublot, will report to Frédéric Arnault.
Stéphane Bianchi said: “Frédéric Arnault has done a tremendous job at Tag Heuer over the past six years. His unique and disruptive vision for the watchmaking industry led to a spectacular transformation for Tag Heuer, which recovered its credentials in record time as the luxury watch brand driven by high performance.” (Photo courtesy: LVMH)
