Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has announced the launch of ‘IWC Connect’, a device initially embedded into the straps of the Big Pilot’s Watches tracking the wearer’s activities.
The new move marks another luxury watch brand responding to the smartwatch trend after TAG Heuer, Montblanc and Frédérique Constant.
“Seeing that many of our customers and brand ambassadors are wearing connected devices alongside their IWC watches, we chose to work with a like-minded digital technology company to develop an elegant, aesthetically complementary solution that eliminates the need to have additional devices on the opposing wrist to your IWC,” explains Georges Kern, CEO of the brand.
Additional details including the launch date will be ready “in the coming months”.
