The Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association (HKJMA) held a press conference for the biannual ‘Miss Jewelry Hong Kong’ on 3 November 2015 in iSQUARE, Tsim Sha Tsui. Donning Hong Kong jewellery worth over HK$1,000,000 in total, the 10 contestants reinterpreted the glamour of jewellery by donning chic, energetic styles in the catwalk.
A number of guests including Hong Kong Film Awards best director Teddy Chan, Miss Asia Candy Lo, chairperson of Hong Kong Jewellery Design Association Jessica Fong, model and entrepreneur Queenie Chan and local artist Queenie Chu attended the event.
The 10 finalists came from different countries and regions such as Holland, Malaysia, Taiwan and Macau. Some of them are members of the jewellery industry and some are enrolled in jewellery courses. Members of the judging panel include Teddy Chan, Candy Lo, international skincare brand founder Anina Ho, Legislative Council member for textiles and garments Felix Chung Kwok-pan, founder of Tse Sui Luen Jewellery (International) Limited Tse Sui Luen and Jessica Fong.
The final round of 2015 ‘Miss Jewelry Hong Kong’ will be held on 26 November in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The winner will receive cash and prizes worth HK$520,000. Besides, an online voting for ‘My Favourite Miss Jewelry’ is held in the organiser’s Facebook page. The contestant who receives the highest number of ‘likes’ will be awarded ‘My Favourite Miss Jewelry’ on the final round. The voting will end at 4pm on 26 November.
