Tiancheng International’s charity auction of jewellery from Kat Florence and Sarah Jessica Parker held on 12 June 2016 set four world auction records for tanzanite, Paraiba tourmaline, tsavorite garnet and zultanite. A portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to A Drop of Life.
The four record-setting pieces designed by Kat Florence included: the 423.56-carat natural tanzanite and diamond pendant necklace The Namunyak Tanzanite sold for HK$2.36 million (US$300,000); the 91.43-carat natural Mozambican Paraiba tourmaline and diamond necklace sold for HK$2.36 million; the 51.73-carat natural untreated East-African tsavorite garnet and diamond ring sold for HK$1.3 million; and the 105.10-carat natural zultanite and diamond pendant necklace for HK$530,000.
Managing director of the auction house Wang Jie said: “In our 5th year, we are delighted to participate in charity again and raised funds for A Drop of Life, which will be used to improve the water supplies to the arid northwestern regions in China and rebuild the school for students affected by the earthquake in Nepal.
