According Alrosa, the diamond measures 38.64mm x 27.34mm x 25.46mm and is translucent with a grey hue. Traces of dissolution-etching channels and caverns are observed on the surface. The intermediate and peripheral zones contain large cracks.
The Nyurbinsky open-pit mine was put into operation in 2001 and had reserves of 36.9 million carats as of 1 January 2015, according to an evaluation under the Joint Ore Reserves Committee Code.
