Jewellery artist Wallace Chan’s special 30-piece-only Collector’s Edition of his first monograph ‘Child at Heart: Dream Light Water’ is exhibited during the Hong Kong Book Fair from 20-26 July 2016 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
On the opening day of the fair, Wallace Chan and Emily Banis Stoehrer, jewellery curator of Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the United States, delivered a 90-minute talk. Around 400 guests attended the event. Chan discussed his life experiences from a carving apprentice to a renowned jewellery artist, illustrated his creative journey, and explained the philosophies and inspirations behind his creations and unique craftsmanship which involves developing new techniques. It includes carving and setting precious stones such as gem-setting-gem, tension-setting and tenon-and-mortise setting, and manipulating titanium and other materials.
