Alrosa has recently announced the results of the estimation in accordance with the JORC code conducted by independent expert Micon, saying Alrosa’s resources totalled 1.03 billion carats of diamonds, while its reserves amounted to 653 million carats. This estimation remains unchanged in comparison with Micon's previous report.
In early January, the diamond producer published its rough and polished diamond sale results for both December 2016 and interim results for 2016, according to the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI). Though total sales in December 2016 were weakened by the demonetization in India, preliminary figures indicate that sales of rough and polished diamonds totaled US$4.486 billion in 2016, a rise of 26% year-on-year.
